Thanks for that recipe, ggglimpopo. I've just printed it out to add to my recipe book.

Btw, I've got 900 grams of Welsh Black minced beef and I was wondering what to do for tea apart from chilli con carne, spagetti bolognese or cottage pie. Any ideas, anyone?

ivor, home made burgers? meatballs?

Meatloaf with the mince?

With the steak I would do stew and dumplings or meat and potato pie.

IvortheEngine · 31/01/2006 15:15

Ah. I forgot to say that I was lazy with a capital L didn't I? Our butcher does fab burgers which we had the other day. I've never eaten meatballs. Did I say I was dead boring in hardly ever trying new food, too? Thanks for your suggestions, though. Any more?

i dont like stew or dumplings. was going to make that tho if i couldnt think of anything else. and i cant be arsed making pies, pastry is such a scutter

Meatloaf? Right. I'll go and take a look to see if I have a recipe for that. Thanks.

IvortheEngine · 31/01/2006 15:17

scutter?

IvortheEngine · 31/01/2006 15:18

P.S. I've just remembered that dh is working from home and I want him to think that I get on with jobs when I get home from work, hence the short posts. Sorry.

meatballs are great. just mix the mince with a bit of onion and grill. i like them with warm salsa and rice

or with tomato sauce (tin of tomatoes, puree, garlic, onion and a bit of stock) with rice again

dead easy

scutter=PITA

They're just our traditional recipes and we love them both. Otherwise I would look up a casserole recipe I suppose.

IvortheEngine · 31/01/2006 15:21

Ah, I see. Right. I've found a recipe for both meatballs and meatloaf. I'm going to look busy for a bit (for dh's benefit) and see if I could feasibly make either for tea. Thanks for the suggestions.
