Can you make Welsh Rarebit a couple of hours in advance?

If I make the sauce/topping a couple of hours in advance, then when needed, spread it on the toast and grill would it still be OK?

Yes we had big tubs of it where I used to work (cafe) to just use as needed. Will last few days in fridge
