My recipe is for 3kg and says to slow roast for 6 hours - how long will I need to do it for a 1kg joint?

Thanks

I had a 2kg piece yesterday. Cooked for approx 3.5 hours I think and it was lovely. But a 1kg piece won't be ready in half that time. The key with shoulder is long and slow.... make sure the fat really covers the meat and that there is something in the roasting tray to create moisture (eg. veg underneath the joint. Leave it uncovered and you will get gorgeous crackling (after about 3 hours).

Thank you - sorry this slipped off my active convos.

Ended up cooking it for about 4 hours at GM2. It was lip-smackingly good!

this is the recipe we used - am cooking it again this weekend.
