GAPS diet: any veterans out there?

We are going to start doing the GAPS diet fairly soon, and as such have been practising a few recipes, trying to introduce the flavours etc... To DS1 who has ASD.

I've been doing mostly the diet for about 5 days myself, although I cheated with a little wheat flour this evening.

I now have a headache almost in my neck, and I keep sneezing like im allergic to something, although I'm not near anything I'm allergic to. Could this be a 'die off' reaction? The second day I was eating GAPS friendly food I had a full on allergic reaction (my eye completely swelled shut) although we never found the allergen. I had to take a lot of piriton for the next 12 hours just to be able to see. Could it be related to the diet?

When I say I've been doing 'mostly the diet' I mean eating GAPS approved food, not the introductory phase, although we will be doing that when I get some probiotics in. Wink
