Is it o.k to put fondant icing over fondent icing??

Hi, I thought I'd cheet and buy a cake for my daughters birthday, then decorate it myself. Ive opend it up and the icing doesn't look that great.
Can I re- ice it, just by putting another layer on top? I have it rolled out and waiting but thought I'd better check first.

Yes you can, though a dark colour/design may show through a pale colour top layer. Have fun :)
