Sausage & Bean Hotpot/Casserole Recipes?

A couple of posters on a previous, easy, chuck it all in, thread suggested sausage and bean casserole/Hotpot which I'm going to finally get round to making tomorrow evening. Before I do, what type of beans will I use and do I brown the sausages first?

One recipe, sorry can't recall who posted it, was for sausages, beans, potato and a pack of sausage casserole mix.

Anyone else care to share ideas - my Google searches are bringing up,many different varieties of Beans which my fussy wonderful offspring wont eat!!

Thanks!

I use haricot beans and stick some chorizo in too. Yum!

Great - thanks. Not sure which one - the Cowboy version would appeal to me but the children would protest loudly!! Grin

Mine involves cooking the sausages, cutting into segments then adding to a combination of passata, a drained can of cannelini beans, a chopped red pepper, a chopped onion fried off in a little oil and a peeled, diced sweet potato. Flavour with italian herbs, black pepper and a few chilli flakes. Bake in a moderate oven for at least an hour so that the sauce can thicken and the vegetables soften.
