Homemade ice cream/frozen yoghurt

Hi
Can anybody offer me any handy tips for making ice cream or frozen yoghurt at home?

I tried to make some frozen yoghurt yesterday for DD. I pureed some mango and pineapple and mixed it with greek yoghurt. It tasted nice before I put it in the freezer, but once frozen it tasted like watered down fruit juice. All the recipes I've seen contain loads of sugar and since she's only two, I'm still quite worried about damaging her teeth.

I haven't got an ice cream maker so I was giving it a good mix every half hour. (My hand blender died when I was pureeing the fruit.)

Is there a secret to concentrating the flavour of the fruit?

TIA

Unfortunately, I do think you need to add some sugar as when you freeze things, somehow they aren't as sweet. I usually use some honey or agave nectar to sweeten it but that still won't help with her teeth.

Thanks Karma. I'll have to think of a new plan.
