this is one of my favourites though we leave out the feta as no-one particularly likes it and serve with salad and value pittas

Also that blog has some good recipes in the budget section

that sounds delicious Agincourt!

mine is cheapo chicken curry (it's very fatty, but you don't need much!):
1 tin cheap chicken soup
some mayonnaise
1-2 tbsp curry powder
chicken drumsticks or legs (or mixture)
handful raisins/mixed chopped peppers/almonds/desicated coconut - one or all of these, to add texture!)

mix together tin of soup with a few tablespoons of mayo (I use reduced fat mayo, and generally use 1 part mayo to 2 parts soup, if that makes sense?) and the curry powder. I generally used about 2 tbsp mild curry powder, but am cooking for a toddler, so feel free to experiment according to taste. I will chuck in a small handful of the other ingredients mentioned from my storecupboard, but will use none if I don't have any to hand - either or is fine!

rinse chicken, pat dry, then put in an oven proof dish (I use pyrex, but any will do!). Cover with sauce. Bake in oven for 45 mins-1 hour, and serve with rice.

we will normally have 1 bit of chicken each, and thus can make this dish last a couple of days - just bulking it out with more rice, as the sauce is v. rich.

I'm making tonight for dinner, as I don't have enough chicken for us all.

1 onion chopped
2 carrots chopped
left over chicken
1 small tin of condensed mushroom soup
veg from freezer.

Fry onion and carrots for a few minutes, add chicken and frozen veg.

Add mushroom soup and either stock or water with stock cube and season.

Bring to the boil and simmer for 30mins.

Now depending on what I have I'll either top with suet pastry or make into a pie/pasty.
