Right, I have already spent ten minutes trying ot get the lid of my kit, and I have now managed to wedge my fermenter unter the bathroom tap with about 40kg of water in it and can't swirl it as I can't pick it up!

AAAAh! I have also had to use milton to steralise the bath as I couldn't get the lid off the bleach!
I am currently reasting a large metal can in water to soften the contents but I am aware at some stage I will have to fish it out in a way that doens't necessitate a trip to a+e.
Please tell me some other women have done this and not ended up almost calling their DP twice to ask how he opens lids

Are you making beer in the bath? How will the family cleanse themselves?
I am sure that I managed the huge bucket thing in the kitchen of our flat. I am huge myself though.
What does the lid look like that you can't get off?

I was sterilising in the bath and just managed to get the bucket out but have sloshed steriliser all over the bathroom! I got the lid off the kit but it took a while!

Good, only another couple of months and you'll be drinking the fruit of your labours.
I once made beer and even went as far as getting bottles and a crown capper.
I hadn't left it long enough before I bottled it. The resulting geysers when the caps were removed became legendary around our block of flats.

Well it has grown a very significant 'frothy head' overnight. In fact its against the lid. Hoping it doesn't redecorate the ceiling.

The instructions warn against bottling it too early as you get bottle bombs!

Well done - frothy head is a good sign.

We do brewing (well mainly DP does it and I hand him things, due to the aforementioned 40-pints-is-quite-heavy issue), and he talks to people in the forums here.
