How can I make a nice base that won't be the texture of biscuit!
How hot do I need to have the oven to get it done nicely?

do you pre heat your pizza stone - I haven't been v. impressed so far with mine - tends to leave the missle a bit soggy.

cod, I put extra olive oil in my dough, that improves the flavour (and probably does other things to it too, she says knowledgably - duh)

It's worth noting, that professional pizza ovens are really really really hot. Hotter than anyone's home oven. Something like 400C or something. That "Man Who Ate Everything" guy did a big article on it, in one of his books.

Homemade pizza is never going to be as nice.

NQC, you will have to come to our house and taste dh's pizza. I can honestly say I have never tasted a restaurant one that is as nice!

Have been looking on ebay - they sell pizza ovens - some going for under £100.
Anyone tried any type of pizza oven?
