I have spent most of this pm making the battenburg cake. Granted I changed the flavours, but otherwise I followed the recipe as best I could and it has been an absolute nightmare. I feel a lot more respect towards the bakers on the programme who had to make this cake as one of the technical bakes. At the time, I looked at their efforts and privately sneered, but in comparison to my effort, they all did superbly 
I am an experienced baker. Is there anything anyone has tried from this book that they could recommend I try next time? I would like a success next!
