can't get limoncello- anyone suggest any other kind of juice etc to slosh in- ideally non alcoholic?

I love this recipe. Honestly not really sure you need the liqueur - think it would be nicer without. I'm not sure you need to replace it with anything as I think the recipe would work without it?

just a simple lemon syrup would replace the limoncello.

Lemon zest, juice, sugar, boiled in a small amount of water.
