Stupid question...is it ok to microwave a shop bought Christmas pud?

I normally make my own but am cutting corners this year as DH was given a poncey Harvey Nicks hamper for Christmas which contained a pudding in it.

Do I just shove it in the microwave for a few mins?? It came with no cooking instructions.... Confused

A 450g pudding can be microwaved for 3 mins or steams in a saucepan for 1 hour.

dont forget to make a hole in the plastic lid

can't think of any other way to cook it.
Other than the steaming method which takes ages.

Well, that's what I thought. Could steam but surely that defeats the object of having a shop bought one as it still takes up valuable space on the hob. Thanks - will microwave & remember to make a hole!
