Quick question: Is it OK for a 4yr old to eat RAW porridge oats?!

DS has started eating this.

Does anyone know if this is OK?! Will it harm him in any way? Seeing as porridge oats are normally cooked!

Of course its OK. What do you think goes in muesli? Grin

I eat raw porridge oats most days. So I think it's fine. If you find out it isn't do let me know!

Yes. They are just oats.

Without milk I must add! Just dry. Urgh.
Thanks for lightening responses! I didn't blink an eye at a spoonful when we were making flapjacks the other day but then this morning he ate an entire bowlful...surprised he could speak!

If he's eating them dry prob best make sure he has plenty to drink with them - but other than that, nice healthy start to the day!

Maybe you can get him to make his own 'muesli' with some dried fruit and yog on top if he prefers unsoggy cereal - that wouldn't be at all odd, would it?
