I KNOW you don't diet when pregnant BUT.....

Can someone please suggest a weekly menu for me?

In my last pregnancy, while I didn't have any morning sickness, I craved fruit. I ate fruit for 6 months, and put on FIVE STONE. Fair enough, it's healthy.

I'm barely pregnant now, and so nauseaous that I can only eat a few foods and they are all calorific. So much that I've put on EIGHT POUNDS since getting pregnant. IN SEVEN BLOOMIN WEEKS.

Please help me! I don't want to put on five stone again, and I don't want to deprive the baby of anything but I need some structure to my eating. Dinnertime is sorted, I eat a small amount of dinner, which is whatever I cook the kids and dh, if I don't fancy it it usually comes back up lol.

But what's kept my weight down before becoming pg is diet drinks.. and I'm so wary of the chemicals that I've cut them out.. and I'm wary of the sugar in the full fat ones.

Please please please.... help me structure my snacks, breakfast, lunch and drinks.

Cut out the snacks! I was ill, so it wasn't hard for me not to put on too much, BUT I gained 3 stone in water weight.

DRINK LOTS of water. Get a 2L jug or water bottle and make it your constant companion.

You'll need the loo night and day at first, but then you'll get used to it.

How about chewing gum? That can take the edge off the ol' appetite.

Expat - Doesn't chewing gum have the same chemicals in it as the diet drinks as most is sugar free?

I'm going to do the water thing, I'm going to have to order a filter jug (the water around here is NOT drinkable.) Is water weight anything to do with drinking water? My doctor said I'd be better off eating chips.. so I think a lot of my 5 stone was water... the second I had ds I was down to 11 stone (and he wasn't 3 stone at birth!) and worked my ass off to lose the last 2 stone.

The trouble with cutting the snacks out, is I'm suffering bad nausea at the moment and I can't eat big meals at all. So I'm spending most of the day hungry lol.

pussycat - thanks

Tommy - can you????? You aren't allowed to go to weightwatchers if you are pregnant, I assumed it would be the same at slimming world.

If it's gone on so quickly it's definitely water retention Lunavix. You don't need to cut out snacks as such, you just need to chosse them carefully. It's the simple carbohydrates - sugars and refined foods that are the killer!! Salt is another thing too, if your eating chips.

My sympathies go out to you. I remember it well

Check this thread

I don't think it's water retention this time lol! Maybe last!

It's not chips I didn't like them last time and definately don't like them this time. It's : quarter pounders, ribena, beef hula hoops, honeydew melon and bagels with cream cheese. It's all I can eat! (not at once obviously lol!) Which is why I need someone to say DON'T EAT THAT lol

Just chew normal gum, w/sugar in it. Not the sugar free stuff.

And water. Lots and lots of water.

Chips are awful! Too much sodium.
