Hi I would like to make biscuits with DS for him to give as presents.
What is a good thing to make that we could make a few days in advance that wouldn't go stale,
also that would taste fab and maybe suitable to decorate in some way.

Last year we made gingerbread biscuits cut out using Christmas shaped crackers - easy, worked well and don't go stale too quickly either.

Shortbread is very easy and hard to ruin. You can decorate very simply with brown or white sugar sprinkled in top or those little silver balls and then cut so there's one in the middle of each square.

Biscotti are also easy and decorating might consist of dipping one end in melted chocolate.

I was looking at www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/8233/orange-and-ginger-stained-glass-biscuits these today.

Haven't made them but if you read the comments some say they have given them as gifts.

The BBC Good Food website actually has a page of Christmas biscuit recipes which might provide some inspiration! www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/recipes/christmas/christmas-biscuits/

Ahem. You can buy ready-made gingerbread biscuit dough in the chiller cabinet at Sainsburys. Which you could roll out, cut, bake decorate. I haven't tried it, but I did hover, tempted, the other day.
