Help - 1.2 kilos of green cherry tomatoes to use up quickly!

I cleared the remains of the tomato plants today, and have 1.2 kilos of green cherry tomatoes.

Does anyone have a non-faffy 'preserves' recipe, like chutney/jam/salsa etc? I can't do anything which involves instructions like 'put a cross in the base of each tomato' as most of them are sub 1cm in diameter and it would take days.....

Thanks :)

Roughly chop at half of the tomatoes and roughly blitz the other half in blender/processor with an onion, though not mushy, then add the other stuff in the pan ie sugar, vinegar, bit of chilli, maybe bit garlic or what ever you want and think will taste nice Smile

What VeryStressed is describing is close to what I know as Chow Chow. A very popular and delicious condiment most popular in the southern states of the US. Oh...it's so good on a burger or with sausages.

The above recipe is very large but you could easily cut it down.

Thanks - I like the idea of the green tomato condiment-style stuff and have taken notes and bookmarked the link for next year.

I needed to clear the space last night, and couldn't find a recipe I liked, so went a bit free-style and ended up making 7 jars of mixed green/red tomato chutney, flavoured with red chili, ginger, star anise, turmeric, cinnamon and cloves. It smells great :)
