Sausage rolls, flaky or shortcrust pastry?

All the shops sell them with flaky and we have always made them with flaky. However flaky is a greasy pastry, I have eaten them with a shortcrust pastry before (at least that's what I thought it was) and much preferred the texture. So what's your preference and if it's shortcrust is it a standard sc pastry or something different?

Homemade, with puff pastry. Deeeeeeeeelicious!

Puff or flaky. No question.

Make them yourself and there's no reason for them to be greasy.

I like both, they're just different (sorry, that doesn't really help!)

All-butter puff!
