Using jars of sauce in the slow cooker is it possible?

Or will I come home to a dried up mess Grin

I have quite a few jars of various sauces in the cupboard, so I would like to know if they are suitable for using in the slow cooker.

Is it ok to just thrown in the chicken/beef and a jar of sauce, do I need to add anything else, like water?

I was going to try sweet and sour chicken tomorrow, so it would be from about 9 till 4pm but if I'm working it would be 7 till 5.30ish.

Would that be too long?

I really want to use the slow cooker for stuff other than my usual joint of beef/pork/gammon which is really all I use it for Blush

Yes very possible and normally yummy. Often do this with chicken korma, have a large slow cooler so tend to put the sauce etc in a pudding bowl bain marie in the middle...

I don't add water and normally bung it in before the school run, eat at 5/6pm.

Verges can be added uncooked, I usually brown meat first unless I'm in a hurry or feeling lazy

Thanks for that! I'll try the sweet and sour tomorrow and maybe a beef casserole thingy on Monday.
