calcium rich foods for children???

9 year old with dairy protein sensitivity, so can't drink milk, or yoghurt in its raw form, but can have dairy when processed/cooked with. Is the fussiest child in the world, so wont try soya/rice milk etc, and has 'gone off' cheese (grrrr) but what on earth can I feed her to stop her bones crumbling later on in life....

Dark green vegetables like spinach, kale, broccoli, the little soft bones in tinned salmon and sardines, rhubarb, tofu, almonds, nuts & nut butters, beans, chickpeas and other pulses, hummus, halibut & salmon, wholemeal bread, apricots, figs, oranges. Then there are calcium fortified foods such as muesli, juices, breads. On nutrition labels look for foods that contain more than 20% of the RDA calcium.

Sesame seeds are full of calcium, you could try just sprinkiling them over meals, DD prob won't even notice them

instant porridge (eg readybrek) is really high in calcium - you'll need to check the labels but i think a bowl of it provides at least half a child's daily requirement.

another easy one is to sneak a few spoonfuls of ground almonds (high in calcium) into other stuff. my two happily eat almonds in their yoghurts etc every day.

also - would she try flavoured soya/rice milk? the 'milkshake' ones like strawberry and the vanilla ones are lovely.

What about cheese sauce or at least white sauce e.g for macaroni cheese, cauliflower cheese or covering white fish. Or cream/ creme fraiche sauce with lemon for linguine perhaps with smoked salmon or mushrooms.
