Arggg!!!! If you have got one of the above could you check something for me - how long does it have to cook for and at what temperature. DH took it out of the box today (to save fridge space) and has thrown away the ruddy instructions. Thanks in advance if you can help!

sorry - should have said it's the one that serves 8-10 people.

Men

Couldn't agree more. At this moment in time I could quite happily truss him up like a turkey ...

Apparently, according to my mother 20mins per pound - plus 20 at the end,. Stick it on the scales.

zippy539 · 25/12/2005 00:26

thanks kalex, what sort of temperature?

MistletAero · 25/12/2005 00:34

180c I'd say - 170c if fan assisted.

snowleopard · 25/12/2005 00:35

My turkey says 45 mins per kilo plus 20 mins, at gas mark 4.

snowleopard · 25/12/2005 00:35

Oh but yours is stuffed, so allow a bit longer. Do a google search?

bobbybobbobbingalong · 25/12/2005 05:15

But it's deboned so it will be quicker!

zippy539 · 25/12/2005 07:41

bobby - that's what I'm wondering - whether the whole deboned thing makes a difference? I could kill him.

silly question, but cant you retrieve the box from the rubbish?

merry christmas btw

zippy539 · 25/12/2005 08:17

Delgirl - as soon as we discovered what had happened I sent DH out to try and find it! Unfortunately we live in the city centre with huge wheely bins on the street - he got a couple of bags out but couldn't get down to the bottom of the wheely (he would have had to climb in). Actually, I think the fact he didn't climb in shows a distinct lack of committment to our Christmas dinner! Wouldn't mind so much but his mum and dd are coming and they already (correctly) suspect I am a domestic incompetent.

With eg a beef joint, if it's boneless it actually takes longer (because when there is a bone it conducts the heat to the inside). Not sure if poultry is the same or not but you have probably done it by now so not much help!
