Do NOT suggest in cola.

I'm sure I've boiled it before but I can't remember. Any suggestions? It's just a littl'un.

You can just boil it - cover it with water, bring it to the boil then discard the water (to get rid of the salt), cover with water and bring to the boil again, then boil for about an hour if it's only a little one. Keep checking that you've still got plenty of water in the pan.

slow cooker overnight

Score the top of it, smoother it in honey, cover with foil and roast.

Bootiful

You could boil it in apple juice and cranberry juice mix, with some spices eg cinnamon.

Or stick some cloves into the skin before you boil it.

You can also boil it, then stick it in the oven for half an hour to brown it - with a glaze on top if you wanted to (dh tells me that marmalade is nice, as well as the honey that Nbg suggested). If you boil it first, don't bother covering it with foil when you then put it in the oven.

Don't want to hijack, but how long will you then feel it's OK to keep in the fridge after Xmas?

WigWamBam · 24/12/2005 18:14

I've done it for dh and kept it for three or four days wrapped in the fridge.
