Just a quick note to give others mothers hope. I bresst feed my dd who is 7 months, at 5 months i tried to wean her onto formula but twice i trued with different formulas she came out in a rash, hives on her chest and neck. I eat many dairy products and it does not effect her through my milk. I coul dnot wean her onto soya or nutramagen as she hated the taste - dont blame her!!! Last week i rubbed some milk on her leg, she had no reaction so tried some on her cheek with still no reaction. So today when i took her to baby clinic to be weighed i brought a bottle of formula milk and fed it to her infront of the hv as i was worried she may have a bad reaction at home and i would of freaked out. i stayed at the clinc for a couple of hours and nothing - i am so chuffed she is not allergic. i reckon its because she has been introduced to solids her body is now used to diferent things other than breast milk so th e formula is not a shock to her system. maybe others mums should try this, if she had of had a bad reaction at least she was in a doctors surgey and help would of been on hand.
