why not put the tin as is (don't open)in a pan of boiling water for 2 hours (keep topping up water) and make toffee? can go on a cake or a banofee pie or just be eaten with a spoon
(make sure you let the tin cool for 2 hours before opening!)

doesn't the tin blow up?

gossifairyonthexmastree · 22/12/2005 11:24

no, it'll be fine, just need to make sure the water doesn't dry out, otherwise you get a burnt pan
it's so yummy

Oh, it can blow up! I know someone who's done it!! Took ages to shift the toffee condensed milk from her kitchen ceiling apparently

bossykate · 22/12/2005 11:27

What a bonkers thread!!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 22/12/2005 11:29

hehehe

I think she forgot about it though, boiled the pan dry and still left it. If you have any common sense at all, it's fine
