Chocolate Guinness Cake: OMG it is amazing and everyone must try it.

I made this the other day and it was the most amazing chocolate cake ever. Like a gooey chocolate brownie and none of the horrible aftertaste of Guinness, really subtle.

Recipe here, I followed Nigella's recipe but substituted the sour cream for butter milk. It is really easy and yummy.

I've had it before and it's amazing. So moist, the texture... It gives me really bad gas though .

It is my 'Oh God I fucked up and forgot your birthday, I;m so sorry' cake, I always get forgiven [hgrin]

It's my favourite cake ever. I get about five marriage proposals every time I make it!

Is it easy though, it sounds ideal fro DH's birthday next month, if it's simple enough for a child.
When they say cocoa in the recipe do they mean ordinary cocoa powder, like the drink?

Yes, it's v v easy to make. Yes to ordinary cocoa powder. Let the stuff in the pan cool down a bit before you add the flour.
