We eat loads of pasta in our house, but it is always with the same things.

I love salmon and I think the kids would eat it ok if it was with pasta, but I have no recipies for it.

If you want easy peasy. I add the salmon - sometimes smoked- to some good quality cream cheese or creme fraiche add some black pepper, lemon juice and top with parmesan. You can also add a table spoon of pesto and some toasted pine nuts which is good too. The beauty of this dish is it's just the pasta that cooks and it's heat warms up the rest of the ingredients.

looks like I was beaten to it

Roast salmon, cook pasta, open jar of tomato based sause (dolmio etc) mix all together. Yummy.

Ahhh meggymoo, your post has just reminded me that I wanted to ask about Pesto. Have never used it before, what does it taste like ??

Smoked salmon, cut into small pieces, smash the hell out of hit while cooking with butter, salt and pepper. When cooked and very small add double cream and heat till cooked through. Cook past (any kind) and eat.

My kids love it.

My Dh does one with tinned salmon. I thin it goes something like this. Onion and garlic fry in olive oil. Add salmon and pasata, a little white wine (to taste) seasoning. Mix with pasta. Does twice as much as you would usually do. Only mix half the sauce. with the leftover sause add some cream then mix with the pasta put in a dish cover with cheese and bake for 1/2 an hour the next day.

Oh and by the way you can do the second one with tuna as well.

NCX, I would say it's an acquired taste really. Get a good quality jar of one I think Bertoli do an organic one which is delish and experiment with it. I make my own if there is lots of basil on offer it is so easy just put everything in the liquidiser and pulse.

It's very versatile and can be used in sauces, in mash, salad dressings, mixed with baked beans for an extra kick - ds likes it on cheese on toast.
I love it in a sandwich with smoked ham/chicken, mayo and salad....oooh I am hungry just thinking about it.

Easiest of all. This is my fave meal when dp's out. Cook pasta. Open a tin of salmon and stab at it with a fork a bit. Then chuck the pasta and salmon in a bowl together with a tiny bit of olive oil. You can stir it as you eat it!

For a treat I break off some stilton and put it in cos it tastes lovely.

NutcrackingXmas · 15/12/2005 13:23

Fisil, I had to laugh at 'stab at it witha fork a bit', thats exactly my kind of recipie
