Peanut butter recipe

Would like to make my own peanut butter. Have had a go at a MN recipe, which does not add any oil, but it just went into 'peanut breadcrumbs' and did not bind at all. Don't know if some peanuts work better than others? I used red-skinned ones, and the recipe needed me to roast until they just changed colour. Maybe I overcooked? Any advice gratefully received.

I'd add the tiniest trickle of oil just for binding, tbh.

This recipe says that first the peanuts will become finely ground but if you persevere they will form a paste. In the comments someone says that the best way to roast peanuts is toss in a teaspoon of oil and then roast 10 minutes at 175c, stirring frequently. I would think unless you actually burned the peanuts it's unlikely you overcooked them.

This one also uses roasted peanuts, but says that you might need to add a little oil to help binding if your mixer motor isn't very strong.
