Apples, apples everywhere..

what can I do with them all?!
Have about 15 cookers and 20 odd eaters
All looking at me reproachfully from two groaning fruitbowls.

Stew the cookers and freeze for crumble one day. Make apple cake with the others.

Having just stoned and portioned up 3kg of cherry plums into fucking freezer bags I am now looking woefully at the windfalls I picked up yesterday. There is only one thing for it. I am going to stew them with sugar and a few spices and divide it up into to crumble sized portions.
If I had more energy after stoning 5kg of mini plums this week, I would use them in a plum and apple chutney.
Back to the freezer bags I go...

rocks they are in El Sexmo. about 30 mins away from marbella I think?

I've a few family members/friends dotted around spain and they give it varied reviews tbh. I've never fancied taking the plunge myself.

Oo, never heard of that down here. The only El Sexmo I know of is north of Madrid...

Marbella is lovely, if you look beyond the plastic people, sugar daddies, rich criminals (it really does deserve it's Costa Del Crime moniker), and instead look at the amazing Andalucian culture and history, it's a different place. Marbella itself (in the Old Town) is simply stunning. The countryside behind and up in the hills, across to Granada and the Sierra Nevada is some of the most beautiful in Europe IMHO. Sadly, the summer months are shit. Full of hen and stag parties pretty much.

Anyway, back to OliviaMumsnet's apples.......

I'm pretty sure it's El Sexmo, Malaga. I may be wrong though.

I can see the tourist aspect could get boring quickly. good luck with the move home.

Today I've just made.

Plum and apple jelly (savoury jelly which lasts for 2yrs)
Minted apple jelly (savoury jelly which lasts for 1 yr)

In fact, they look so lovely I may just keep them on display
