Prebought frozen pastry oblongs for pizza topping- tell me how!

I am going to try these, where you buy packets of pre-made frozen pastry already rolled into an oblong which you then top to make like a pizza.

Can I ask what to put on them so they don't go soggy or end up too 'dry'? Do you pre-part bake the pastry or put the 'wet' ingredients on from the start on the raw pastry?

Presumably tomato puree, but passata too? Then bake altogether or in installments, adding cheese at the end?

I am thinking of making 2 or 3 different ones for a casual adults drink and light-supper 'do' so clever toppings also appreciated!

TIA

When I've done it, I just put some tomato paste (there's one which is sundried tomato paste - if you can find it, get it, it's amazing). No need to pre-bake or anything like that, just make sure the pastry is fully defrosted (you can leave it in the fridge over night/during the day).

For toppings you could do:

  • sundried tomatoes, mozarella and olives, maybe some preserved artichokes
  • less pizzay, but still delicious - roasted butternut squash with goats cheese and pine nuts

Caramelised onion and goats cheese.

Ham, onion and cheese (soften the onions first). You can spread some mustard on first if you like.

Roasted peppers topped with cheese and chorizo.

Thanks for those suggestions!

Any more also welcome!
