Can you freeze sourdough starter?

I'm experimenting with a sourdough starter at the moment and, I must say, it's looking pretty lively. My recipe says that unused starter can be kept in the fridge and fed every 4 days to keep it alive but I'm going on holiday for a week shortly. I know yeast can be frozen. Can my sourdough starter?

It can be frozen as it just puts the yeast to sleep. My mum has frozen hers but I never asked how well it worked afterwards, well I assume as it is still going a couple of month on.

That's good to know. Thank you. :)
