Turron, IIRC, is very sweet and nice but fatal if you have dentures. I hate marron glace but apparently there are some who love it. They are strange. Panetone delicious and light but quite dry, need to dunk in tea.

Actually, I hate anything with the word glace attached, so if you're a weirdo who likes glace cherries then perhaps you might like the marrons.

tissy · 28/11/2005 13:25

turron tastes like sickly-sweet sand to me

Pannetone- v light sweet cake/ bread good buttered or toasted when stale- much prefer it to our Christmas cake.

Monkeysmom · 28/11/2005 14:23

I love Panetonne ! I must remember to get some for Christmas .

Turron is delicious but very sweet, the traditional ones are a bit like halva [sp] The chocolate one s are to die for, especially truffle ones!

Panatonne is lovely if you get a good quality one, if not it tastes like cardboard

Pannetone is also great for making bread and butter pudding with.
