Boeuf bourguignon - Can anyone recommend the wine please....(and other silly questions)

I plan to make this on Saturday for my birthday dinner - the Delia version which looks the easiest as I've never made it before. I'm more of a bordeaux girl so not sure which wine is best from the Burgandy region. Can anyone recommend one please? Probably looking at £10-£15 max (and then hoping that Sainsburys have one on half price offer Grin).

Additionally, can it be made the day before and reheated? Other than mash, what is a good side dish for this? And last one: is it the done thing to drink burgandy with, or can I have my beloved st emilion? A trillion questions. Sorry!

Many thanks.

Personally, I'd say go for whichever red wine you enjoy, rather than worrying about which type 'should' be drunk with it or put in it.
St Emillion would go brilliantly, I'm sure.

I'd serve it with rice, personally, as an alternative to mash.

Yes, definitely make it the day before and reheat.
Most stews etc improve in flavour with a day to rest.
