Having googled myself into a state of angst, can anyone recommend (recent, decent and honest recommendation) an NYC steakhouse?

This has to be good. It's for next years wedding anniversary, and for a multitude of reasons, this has to be good.

I am at an impasse with tripadvisor, chowhound, etc.

DH is carnivore extraordinaire - I repeat, this has to be good!

Wine for anyone with a winning suggestion....Grin

We ate here and DH insisted on going back to it TWICE during our 5 night stay. :)

I must admit the porterhouse was amazing.

I suggest Delfriscos - sublime!

Keens on 37th St - awesome! Recommended to us by new yorkers. Google it, there is a website.

Oh and Peter Luger is supposed to be the best although it is in Brooklyn I believe.

We went to Benjamin, not far from grand central station. Amazing. You need to check zagat for most up to date info. We went there as couldn't get into peter Luger. Would go again.

Peter Luger (Williamsburg) was the place to go when I lived in NY, but the NY Times thinks it's not quite as great as it once was. They mention other good steakhouses in this review, so worth a read:
