lol

My my, one is posh.

wilbur · 11/11/2005 19:21

Aha - did one have a lovely time among the smoked salmon nibbles? Actually, yorkielaydee, what you need is a little man from Ocado to bring it to your door so you don't have to life a pinkie.

I used to live near the Waitrose on the Kings Rd - boy, them Chelsea laydees are harder than any Lidl shopper, it was Fendi baguette bags at dawn if you got in their way.

wilbur · 11/11/2005 19:30

PS Waitrose own brand chocolate puds - v good indeed for when one is not watching one's weight.

Nbg · 11/11/2005 19:31

Has one opened near ones humble abode?

One inspected the Otley establishment on one occasion when on one's way to visit one's daughter at university. One was quite favourably impressed and wished one could patronise this grocer more conveniently. (It is a bleeding long way)

I love Waitrose . It is one of the (few) plus points of where we live that there is one two minutes drive away. So much more civilised than the bun fight that is Tesco !

Gobbledigook · 11/11/2005 20:20

Absolutely ROFLMAO at this thread!

One shall remember to watch one's Ps and Qs and the splendid Yorkshire ball!

tissy · 11/11/2005 20:35

Otley may well be the nearest Waitrose to me (Ayrshire). Anyone know of one further North?

At the moment we have to slum it in Sainsbury's and that's a 30 min drive away

edam · 11/11/2005 20:38

Janh is clearly Eliza Doolittle pretending to be a laydee.

Wasn't Asda originally a Yorkshire farmer's co-op?

tissy, you could try Booths at Keswick or Kirkby Lonsdale? Slightly nearer Ayrshire than Otley (but still also a bleeding long way for a weekly shop)!

Waitrose's furthest N is Harrogate.

sweetkitty · 12/11/2005 16:15

Where in Ayrshire tissy (being nosy as thats where I'm from)?

Me - only Harrods food hall will do darlings, not slumming it in Waitrose !

Tobim · 12/11/2005 18:48

ASDA stands (or did) for Associated Dairies and yes, was a farmers' co-op.
A colleague of mine says you can tell Waitrose is a classier supermarket because the parking spaces are much bigger to allow for the huge cars people drive. I don't know how true this is - our nearest Waitrose too far away to check!
