I have a sheet of puff pastry - what can I make with it to go with salad?

Thought of quiche but isn't that normally shortcrust? And I have no baking beans or anything? Any suggestions?

is it one of these jus roll sheets>? If so i'd top it with cheese and salad type things and serve it with salad :)

You could make a cheese and tomato tart, or caramelised onion. Add anchovies, bacon, ham, olives, jalapenos or whatever you might have.

Score a rectangle an inch or so within the pastry rectangle, all the way around with a sharp knife point (forming an inch-wide border), then put whatever filling you want within the border. The 'border' will puff up higher than the centre, which will also puff up a bit bot not as much because of the filling weighing it down.

A kind of pizza thing, with cheese, tomato etc. Leave a gap round the edge for it to rise. This is one of DD's favourite meals.

Nanny Pat's sausage plait!
Google it for recipe, and photo on my profile.

caramelised red onions, creme fraiche, little bits of bacon/pancetta, and thyme. little grating of parmesan on top when cooked. mmmmm

could you add olives and tomatoes and bake in the oven. It's an Italian or french dish - sorry can't remember the name - pillessadier or something - probably doesn't even start with a p!

Oh I did a post and it#s vanished. Thanks all! You have inspired me. I am going to try a savoury tarte tatin with caramelised onions, tomatoes and some chorizo I found in the fridge. I am hungry now. And yum yum at sausage plait!

Another good idea is to spread it with marmite (I hate the stuff but this is surprisingly nice), and add grated cheese. Roll it up and slice, then bake, not sure how long though.
