there must be somewhere cheaper than the supermarkets, but so far an online search hasn't led to anything with significant enough savings to warrant a separate buy. does anyone know of anywhere?

thanks!!

We buy the majority of our bread flour from a local independent health food shop who sell big bags of it -its packaged in plain brown thick paper bags so I presume they buy it in bulk and then repackage in 5-10kg bags. Works out cheaper than supermarket flour.

thank you. you got me thinking that its a shop i'm looking for not an online supplier. so i did a quick comparison and found that tescos and asda sell it for 2/3 of sainsbos price and half of ocado price (both places are where i usually do my online grocery)!! (68p for 1.5kilos- how does that compare to what you pay?)

we do a trip about once a month to tesco for nappies so i think i'll be adding their bread flour to my list for that trip from now on!

thanks :)

just need to find somewhere for seeds etc now. there must be somewhere. i think that's probably where health food shops will probably be the best.

the postage on flour from an online supplier is horrendous. At least it used to be.

I thought someone on MN recommended Aldi (or lidl) bread flour.

mmm it would be worth a regular trip to aldi if its cheaper as its not too far. will check it out next time i'm passing. frustratingly i cant check online their prices.

thanks
