OK, so I want to make Fish & Chips (with Mushy Peas) and Jam Roly Poly. The problem is, I am going to have to make them in advance, then re-heat them at our destination. Is this possible? If so, how?

Thanks Smile

I hate to say it but they will be tad soggy. You could try and re heat in an oven to crisp up and maybe only part cook??

Agree with coansha - fried stuff does not travel well at all unless you literally get it from the chippy fresh out of the fryer and eat within about 15 min. If you have to make it in advance, does it have to be fish and chips? Something like poached salmon is very English, and much more transportable.

There are loads of great ideas for easily transportable foods on some of the recent picnic threads.

Actually, I think you are both right.

Please could I have some suggestions for (transportable) lunch that will re-heat well? Thanks.

my dd wants me to do a union jack pizza with white as mozzarella, red as the tomato sauce/tomatoes, and blue - died blue peperoni!

Hmmm....

That's a really good idea!
