My 10 month old DD keeps eating the cat's food! I don't let her, and try to keep her away from it but on the rare occasions she does eat some, is it really bad? Its the dry Iams cat food btw! And why is it she will eat the cat food but not her own food???

If it is the dry food, I should think you need to be careful how much water she drinks. It may make her very thirsty EVEN if the salt content is lowish. When I was a child I used to eat our dog's biscuits and there is nothing...hing...hing...hing wrong with me(?)

On a more serious note, our dog opened the cupboard one day when we were out and helped herself to 4 or 5 sachets of dried dog food. We didn't realise until we had filled up her water bowl a couple of times. We then had to induce vomiting as she looked like a barrel!!!
