My fridge has been taken over by lobsters

My neighbour has given me 3 lobsters (the local fisherman has the hots for her Grin). They are alive and residing in a damp cardboard box in my fridge. I'm planning to stick them in the freezer for an hour before cooking - is this right? Is it best to cook them immediately before eating or can I leave them to cool? I was planning on eating them grilled with melted butter but good ideas gratefully received.

As much as I love lobster I would freak out if there were live ones in my house. Eeeekk!!! No advice sorry Grin

Wonderful.
Just boil them-it's quicker, easier and kinder. Get water on rolling boil then drop in unti lpink.

Crack open and eat.

Thanks Moony. DS1 did ask if he could keep one. I was quite tempted but (a) don't have a saline tank and (b) they taste too good.

How funny!
My parents were always boiling up live crabs when i was little and it made me cry.
One escaped once and was found making a break for it in the garden.
It was still devoured, poor swine.

Enjoy!

i'm really glad - was worried about you (and any wine you may have in the fridge)

stick them in freezer for an hour. Then chop em in 1/2 lengthwise.
Make a paste with grated fresh ginger, crushed garlic, lime juice and zest , hot chili paste, chopped cilantro and olive oil.
Cook the lobsters shell side down on the bbq after covering them with your paste, baste them a few times till they are cooked.
Very very good and really simple and looks really impressive when served up
