I have done the usual spag bol, meat balls, chicken casserole. These can all be warmed up in the microwave. I am running out of ideas and good recipes that work well. DH on shift tonight and no meal planned. Please help! Thank you Smile

I love liver casserole with bacon, mushrooms and veg in just a normal gravy- just bung in a casserole dish and 40-60 mins later its done.
He might like fahitas - stir fry ingredients chicken works well buy the sauces and the powder - then give hubby 2 different sandwich boxes - one to warm with chicken, peppers etc... in and one with salad, tortillas wraps, any sour cream or guacamole, cheese in - he might enjoy making it up.
Chicken tikka massalla - cook in sauce is nice especially with potatoes in it and with a boiled egg on top.
Cottage pie with veg and gravy.
Chinese stir fry with plenty of noodles.
Hope this helps

If DH is home late I normally just plate up whatever we are having and he micowaves it later.

Good ideas! Thank you. Some inspiration before I do the food shop this morning. DH works 12 hr shifts and needs a good meal to keep him going through the night. I do give him what we sometimes eat at home, like a roast dinner but some nights are jackets, omelette, pizza. Easy dinners for the kids and I. I want to batch cook some meals and freeze them. Just need to get organised.

roast dinners (he can take bisto along separately to boil up)
toad in hole
chilli n rice
sausage n mash
risotto
enchilladas
pasta bakes
fish pie
not wildly exciting but easy to reheat and eat on the job if he doesn't get time for a proper break
