Dd had asked for choc cake for birthday. No problem I have a good recipe.

Dr has now asked for a propane pig cake ...still not a huge problem I go to Tesco ...but she doesn't like jam sponge...so I need to turn my choc cake into a propane pig cake?

She is suggesting muddy puddles...and I am thinking of buying some propane figures and plonkung them on choc cake...any more inventive ideas?

Sorry about predictive text.

Dd is obviously not a doctor

And hopefully peppa pig isn't as explosive as propane Grin

Buy some fondant icing and food colouring and make a pink Peppa face ?

DarkSkies · 15/04/2011 10:20

Just get some plastic Peppa figures, and the chocolate can be muddy puddles- job done

I have no idea what propane pig cake is though...

DarkSkies · 15/04/2011 10:21

AH right- propane was phone changing 'Peppa'... right Grin

How about colouring that mouldable white chocolate stuff with pink food colouring? Or, Hobbycraft do sort of big chocolate button things in different colours. They're like chocolate but without the cocoa in iyswim. They melt and act like chocolate. They just either get a cake topper or if you're clever enough unlike me you could ice Peppa onto your round or oval cake...

Oh, and your daughter has excellent taste. Shopbought jam sponges with that plastic icing on are vile!

Thus is the thing she is not keen on pendant icing either...

But also love the cake topper idea...anywhere on the high street sell them?

rofl @ 'pendant icing' too- great phone! Grin

Haunted, I would cover the cake in the melts then put a topper on. If nothing else you'd at least have a yummy pink cake that you could write Peppa Pig on Grin

make models with marzipan if you all like it - then paint with food colouring?

HauntedLittleLunatic · 15/04/2011 19:05

OK....results on profile.

Couldn't get teh figures I wanted but local cake decorating shop sold every colour under teh sun icing in quantities you requested (as opposed to full packets) so I decided to have a go.

Characters on my profile (hopefully)...they are going to sit on a patch of green grass when I have done the ganache. I might have another go later as I have loads of icing left see if I can improve. I think George is a bit big.

I also managed to get Peppa candles. Will put finished results up tomorrow.

Thanks for the input
