I need help! Ds2 is allergic to too many foods. I need ideas!

Ds2 is allergic to nuts, peanuts, legumes, peas & pulses, sesame, dairy, eggs & mustard. As you can imagine, this limits his diet significantly.

A typical weeks dinners might be spaghetti bolognaise, chicken risotto, veg soup & ham sandwich, fish & mash with cauliflower & broccoli, sausages & mash. That sort of thing.

Please, I beg you, does anyone have any suggestions? I used to enjoy cooking a wide variety of food, but am somewhat losing interest Sad.

Tuna pasta thing with tomato sauce?
Sausage casserole and rice/pasta
Kedgeree without eggs

How old is he?

Katisha · 08/04/2011 17:20

Pizza

Frankly all our evening meals are variations on the same themes anyway and we only have the egg allergy!

It goes tuna pasta, spag bol, fish and chips, smoked haddock and rice, assorted tomato based sauces with whatever meat needs using up plus mushrooms, olives etc and pasta.

He's 3. Tuna tomato pasta's a good one, thanks! Also hadn't thought of leaving the eggs out of kedgeree. His brother is 6 & can be difficult to get him to try new things. They both like rice though, so could work!

Can't do pizza unless he has it without cheese.

I'm just a bit worn down with it all and a thread in aibu got me thinking that I really need to expand a bit.

I think I'll try the kedgeree idea, thanks!

Def open to other ideas too Smile

Home made burgers with potato wedges and salad or corn on the cob (if that's ok for home to eat)
Stir fried rice noodles with whatever meat/veg he likes or can eat (or noodle soup? Fun to slurp!)
Pizza or calzone, without the cheese obviously
Toasted sandwiches
Home made curry and rice
Shepherds or cottage pie
Grilled chicken breast with garlic and herbs
Chicken, lamb or meatball tagine with couscous or flatbreads
Spring rolls and stir fried rice with veg?

home him ( stupid iPad autocorrect!)

Thanks Gastrognome! Really like the noodle idea. Any advice on what I could put with that? He can't have soy Sad

Oh dear, had forgotten soya is a bean!
You could still make the noodles really tasty by adding strips of beef or bacon, baby corn, red peppers, carrot, spring onion, ginger, garlic and szechuan pepper.
Or what about some form of fajitas with stir fried veg, chicken or beef, salsa, guacamole and flour tortillas? That's always good fun.

pesto pizza with chicken,no cheese required there
we also get bbq pizza here which is basically pizza dough with bbq sauce on then chicken and caramelized onions, really really tasty
"white pizza" which is pizza dough with garlicky olive oil instead of tomato sauce then chicken and broccoli
Can you tell my son works in a pizza shop? :o
