How woudl you cook chicken in an automatic oven that normally would take 2 hours?

20 mins to the o.5kg plus 20 if you like. so a chicken that takes 2 hours would be I guess round
2.5kg I am not sure what you are trying t odo but basically I would give it 20 mins per half kilo at 180/350 Gas 5.
Am I being thick? Have large glass of wine here but what is automatic oven?

Sorry - I'm not going to be in to turn the oven on and then when its ready put the chicken in, so the chicken will be in the oven from cold and then the oven will switch on by itself (magic!!)

Was wondering how much to reduce the cooking time by as the chicken will be in as the oven is warming up

I would allow 21/4 hours cooking time and then get oven to actually switch itself off so chicken will continue to cook a little and then " rest" So I would set oven to come on at 4 cook till 6 turn off and then you arrive home at 6.20 ready to carve and cook- does that make sense? you are brave- I just bung casseroles in mine
