Apologies in advancve, this is probably a really stupid question, but I want to bake some lemon and poppy seed cakes tonight but tesco and co-op are out of poppy seeds so wondering if the ones you get from B&Q for putting in the ground are edible???

not sure about those? wonder if they might have done something to not be food grade?

We used ours from our own poppies in our garden. (yummy in bread)

Ooooh I don't think so but I have tried both tesco and asda for poppy seeds this week and it appears they no longer sell them! We use them all the time so hope I find some from somewhere as I use them all the time for both sweet and savoury dishes. I have a feelign it's something Julian Graves/other similar type shop might carry.
