Hi
Has anyone got a good cake / biscuit recipe for a school cake sale.
Needs to be something quick, easy, not too costly and more importantly yummy!!!
Thanks

You can't beat a good Chocolate Brownie Obviously, leave out the nuts in attached recipe if it's for a school.

Vanilla sponge cupcakes with real vanilla?

View the BBC Good Food website plenty on there and reviews so you can be assured that the recipe is worth the effort.

I'm doing carrot cake for spring sale but I will leave in the nuts and put up flags on coctail sticks stating this and for the few have a sheet listing the ingredients.

I find brownies whilstdelicious to be very expensive to make esp for a school cake sale.

This never fails

chocolate fairy cakes

6oz butter and sugar whisked til pale
Add 3 eggs
Add vanilla essence and beat together
Add 6oz SR flour and fold in

whip into baking cases and bake for 15mins

Decorate accordingly

Mars bar crispie cakes. £0g of butter to every mars bar (I use 5 so 150g) melt together over heat, then add 120g ish of rice crispies and put into 2 brownie tins lined with greaseproof paper. Then melt 500g of chocolate and spread over the top. Keep in fridge, then cut into squares. These are a massive hit here, and thanks to much experimenting and eating, I've found that this recipe works with the most basic ingredients so I buy it all at aldi, the mars bar rip offs cost about 60 or so pence, the butter is less than a quid, chocolate is 30p a 100g bar......

The ones with lurid blue icing always sell well IME!!
Not to my taste but my son bought some home from the school cake sale just this week. Even better if covered with sweeties.
