I have a pack of beef mince that needs eating today, but I'm sick of bolognse, lasagne and cottage pie :(

I also have:

Tinned tomatoes,
pasta sauces,
red peppers,
cheese,
pasta,
potatoes,
rice (although dp doesn't really like rice)
peas,
bread,
eggs,
etc.

Help?

Chilli con carne ?

MmeLindt · 22/03/2011 16:04

Mix with breadcrumbs and egg and make meatballs. Serve with pasta and tomato sauce. You can cook the meatballs in the sauce to make them really yummy.

Chilli con carne, or mix in finely chopped onion, some herbs, S&P and one egg, then roll into meatballs

MardyBra · 22/03/2011 16:05

Came onto the thread to say chilli or meatballs!

asdx2 · 22/03/2011 16:08

Burgers and potato wedges perhaps

DirtyBit · 22/03/2011 16:09

Ahh didn't think of burgers/meatballs.
Thank you!

DP cooked This: a Deep South recipe 'Ground Beef casserole with mexican spices' last week - it was really tasty, economical and has loads of veg in it - a good 'one pot' dish.

witchwithallthetrimmings · 22/03/2011 16:15

Spanish Rice?

Cook your mince and add peppers, diced carrots, sweetcorn if you've got any...
Add about 50-100g of cooked rice (prob 100g for 500g mince)
Mix with 1 tin of Condensed Tomato Soup, 2 tbsp Wostershire (sp?) sauce & 1 tbsp vinegar.

Stick in a dish and pop it in the oven for half an hour.

Serve with baked potatoes/potato wedges or in pitta bread/taco shells.

Snap! Grin

Mousakka - I know it is traditionally lamb, but if you use the right herbs and spices (cinnamon & oregano) it'll taste just a nice. Just remember to put an egg in the cheese sauce that goes on top and cook your aubergines before you layer it up.

Keema curry, also traditionally lamb but nice anyway.

I second meatballs, but if you don't want them to be to similiar to bolognese you can make the sauce a little spicier and serve with nachos.

or Savoury mince and vegetable rice is very popular with the little people here.
