what food would be good for DS with stomach cramps?

DS (10) has a sore tummy, no vomiting or diarrohea, but he's only eaten half a ham sandwich and a piece of toast yesterday and nothing so far today. Loads of water, though! So he might have hunger pains too now?

Would soup be a good idea?

Soup
Chicken with rice

Is he constipated?

OrangeBernard · 17/03/2011 12:25

Has he got a temperature

bigTillyMint · 17/03/2011 12:55

No temp, I think he might be constipated though! He is complaining of stomach pains and is lying in bed with a hot water bottle reading.

I just gave him some soup, so fingers crossed it doesn't make him worse!

Would fruit be good or best avoided?

Can you tell we never get ill in our familySmile

Water. Water is the key ( or cordial).

Things like dried apricots, dates, prunes, sunflower seeds. Some people say fresh orange helps them go.

Or cheat. Go to the chemist and get some sachets of Fibergel orange flavour not lemon. Have to down them - very gritty liquid. They help to ease the cramps and soften the poo ( but not with explosive results).

Yes, he has drunk at least 2 litres of water so far today!

OK, I have dried apricots and sunflower seeds. And he had a glass of fresh orange this morning.

If all else fails, I will try the fibregel - how long before you see (eugh) results?Smile

Depends on how bunged up.... Usually within 24-48 hrs if 2 sachets a day taken ( I'd like to point out I know all this due to my bunged up MIL and recently my 6 yr old had tummy pains due to constipation - I am not poo obsessed honestly).

Nice warm bath helps too.

Thanks! Smile
