Ocado suddenly gone right downhill?

FattyArbuckel · 08/03/2011 19:28

My last few orders with Ocado have been full of damaged stuff and items that have gone off well before date.

Before the last few weeks I have been really happy with my deliveries - has anyone else had lots of problems recently?

I am fed up because I have just paid for a year's delivery up front so i feel a bit tied in now.

I've had spilt broken things once or twice - not often though, and I think you need to be realistic and accept that this will inevitably happen on an occasional basis. Have had a few more missing items recently which I am not too thrilled about...but generally service good.

We haven't had any problems. I think we get deliveries from Hatfield and I don't order meat or fruit as I like to see these before I buy and don't order frozen stuff. I would like to be able to add notes to avoid dodgy substitutions and have a "don't show me this screen again" option for those stupid "have you forgotten any of these random items" screens. We haven't had a survey though.

MillsAndDoom · 14/03/2011 19:33

Oh the checkout screens drive me mad - especially if I'm just making a quick addition to a previously placed order on my not very smart smart phone - its such a pita to have to go through 6 farkin screens to checkout.

NotaMopsa · 14/03/2011 19:56

agree with those about those annoying checkout screens

i am like ' all right all right I get the meessage '

Oh- I forgot to say ... 1 thing I am really peed off with Ocado for is putting up the prices of Size 5 Nature nappies- WHY?

I have emailed to ask why, absolutely no response.

Why do they cost £6.88 for size 5, and £5.98 for all other sizes? Angry Angry Angry
All other stores (Boots, Sainsbury, Waitrose) charge £5.98 for all sizes (you simply get fewer nappies in the pack as the size increases IYSWIM)

I order a lot of these nappies, but I refuse to pay almost a whole pound more per pack- almost a 20% mark-up- particularly when they are readily available elsewhere, it's just ridiculous. [rant over]

How any food distributor would manage to send out UHT milk that goes off the second it's opened, I don't know...

MikeStand · 16/03/2011 16:07

Cinderellaslippers ocado emails are formatted [email protected] - I discovered this when I had packing problems and got no joy from customer services so emailed their CEO and marketing director by guessing emails. They were still a bit underwhelming though and haven't used them since as I live near waitrose store and they deliver.

MillsAndDoom · 03/04/2011 09:06

I know this is a bit of an old thread, but I need to have a "FFS Ocado" rant.

We only do small orders, several times a week - Friday's order was missing our much looked forward to weekend rump steak, and I've just had a text to say that my roasting joint is missing - no substitution - do they not put some thought into their deliveries - so no Mothering Sunday roast dinner unless I make another trip to the supermarket which does defeat the object somewhat Angry

BigJobMan · 08/07/2011 19:04

Good evening all.
Yes, the drivers are excellent but the packing can be atrocious. At first I didn't realise how easy it is to get a refund so I didn't bother. But, customer services are very good. I have just taken delivery of a bottle of AME orange and grape drink, among other things, glass bottle, sealed cap, half empty! How this happened with the seal still intact I don't know - it's probably not Ocado's fault. The rest of my order, or a lot of it, was soaked with this drink. I've had roll mops before, with the plastic tub all cracked and empty of vinegar. Still on the whole I still think they're very good.

This is a very old thread so my apologies for zombie-fying it, but I thought rather than start a new one I would just add my voice of complaint to this one.

After a steadily decreasing level of quality in their service and what they delivered, Ocado have surpassed themselves tonight and delivered me a bagful of shopping with what looks like bird shit in it, although it smells worse than one would imagine bird poo would (not that I have really given it much thought but you know what I mean).

One phone call resulted in the inevitable refund and the suggestion I post the food back to them, presumably so they can see if they really are selling food with shit on.

Thank you Ocado, and goodnight. I would like to complain to someone I think might actually read the email - I can't even work out how to close my account with them, only cancel my Delivery Pass.

Hi all! This may be an old thread but it seems to be the main thread of Ocado judging by the hits.

After hearing about so many complaints about other Ocado drivers and the way Ocado ignore these complaints when rung up, I am amazed no one has rung up Watchdog yet or opened an investigation. Just wanted to share my story here.

Do you have a paticular reason to be posting on threads about sodding Ocado that are YEARS OLD?

Am I missing something?

Notabar · 15/10/2014 18:04

The only thing I have ever had a problem with is potatoes. Maybe a quarter of the time they are at the end of their days and a bit sweaty and sprouting eyes.

Always been refunded with no quibbling, though.
