Cooking time - home made frozen burgers?

I have a load of burgers I made and stuck in the freezer. Normally I defrost them overnight in the fridge and then cook the following evening, only I forgot last night. Is it possible to cook them from frozen (I assume so as packet burgers aren't pre-cooked are they?)? If so - how long do I cook them for - grill/oven?

I oven baked mine for 30 mins at 200C in a fan oven from frozen. Came out fine. They were lamb, shouldn't think that makes ne difference.

Are they much thicker than shop bought frozen burgers? I'd be a bit concerned about them not being cooked through. Have you got a microwave? Personally, I'd defrost them in there first (yeah, I know you're not supposed to speed-defrost meat but we're not dead yet!) You just have to be 100% sure they are cooked right through - so I guess you can cook them from frozen (I would grill them and cut one in half to make absolutely sure they are cooked).

Does that help at all?

I make my own burgers and freeze them. They are quite thick but I cook them from frozen, and we are here to tell the tale. As long as they are well cooked and hot, hot, hot in the middle I'm sure they are fine.

Hope they are yummy!

mine were the size of those quater pounder burgers you can buy in shops.

Am being a coward and going the microwave route... ... even if it does make em a bit soggy and floppy for the grill pan...

Didn't know you weren't supposed to speed defrost meat though, marthamoo? Gawd... it's all I ever use that damn machine for!
