I don't want hard chocolate, or butter icing. I want that gooey covering for a cake I am making, how do i make it?

also, how to I make fizzy cola go flat in an hour or so?

Thanks!

In the recipe section, look for scale called 'chocolate celebration cake'. Sorry I can't do links on my phone!! This cake has the easiest and yummiest chocolate gooey fudgey icing. It is gorgeous!!

Sorry, can't help you with the coke!!

TragicallyHip · 16/02/2011 18:25

I would shake it and open (not too quickly mind you) and leave out till needed

You can add a spoonful of sugar or salt to any fizzy drink to lose the bubbles. It will overflow though if the glass is full!!

Keep pouring the coke from one glass into another at a height it will soon lose its fizz.
Dark choc and fresh cream makes a lovely ganache for a cake topping.

Why do you need your coke to go flat?

A slice of lemon in coke makes it go flat, so maybe try that unless the recipe doesn't allow for a touch of lemon juice in the coke. I second dark choc and fresh cream for ganache.

MisSalLaneous · 16/02/2011 18:50

I second the salt for flat Coke.

PavlovtheCat · 16/02/2011 18:56

marion the recipe I was going to follow requires flat coke in it. But I am using the chocolate celebration cake instead as it is easier!

I love the idea of mars bars!!!! i will give DH a call as he is up the shops buying some baking powder and chocolate buttons, see if I can get him to change my order...the million calories are fine, it is for work so we will all only be having one slice each so around 100,000 calories each instead Wink

Might be too late but this is fab, and a MN recipe too Smile

A spoonful of sugar in coke makes it go flat pretty quickly.

monkeybumsmum · 16/02/2011 19:02

Meant to say the gooey icing is fab, but the rest of the cake is pretty damn good too!

PavlovtheCat · 16/02/2011 19:45

wow that looks fab, will make that next time!!! (cake coop, every thurs, some-one makes something yummy)

Hope the chocolate celebration cake went well - I've made it loads of times and it's always been a success. This cannot be said with all my cakes!!

The melted mars bar topping sounds utterly fab!! I'm definitely going to try that one soon.
